In the enchanting Alpine scenery near Monviso in the Cozie Alps, just 9 kilometres from the French border, stands the beautiful mountain village of Pontechianale. Sited at 1650 metres above sea level, on the banks of a splendid lake, the village is enveloped by 825 hectares of dense woodland known as the Aleve, noted for a species of fir called cembro (in the local Occitane dialect). The Aleve, extending from 1500-2500 metres up the mountainside, was already famous in Ancient Roman times and has the distinction of being the largest cembro forest in Europe.

Pontechianale's rich vegetation, lakes and wildlife make it a truly magical place, a paradise for all lovers of the natural environment.

In winter there are more than 80 kilometres of snowy slopes below, providing opportunities for Alpine skiing on icy cascades, plus walks through woodland with special shoes. In summer the network of tracks and pathways around Monviso and the Blue Lakes near the French border provide opportunities for a wide variety of excursions, including mountain-biking, horse-riding and romantic night-time strolls by the illuminated lakeside.

Rock-climbing, Alpine hiking, parapendio, deltaplaning, canoeing, windsurfing. the choice of sports on offer in the Valle Varaita's natural surroundings is almost endless.

Our premises, the Belvedere Residence, occupy an upper floor and are located in the village centre, close to the ski slopes and countryside walkways, conveniently placed for shops and restaurants in Pontechianale's square and chair-lift up the mountain.

The accommodation consists of a small cooking area, a sitting-room with double bed and balcony overlooking the Colle dell'Agnello (Lamb's Mount), a bedroom with a two bunk-beds and a third adjoining bed, a WC and shower, and an independently controllable central heating system.

The flat is equipped with every home accessory needed for a comfortable holiday that will make you feel good, both physically and psychologically.
